Highly detailed early book on Coopers which is particularly strong on 500s and record breakers but the sports cars etc. are also well covered. Excellent illustrations. Preface by Charles and John Cooper, Foreword by Stirling Moss. A rare book made unique by having been signed in pencil on the flyleaf by Juan Manuel Fangio. The dedication reads "Salute BRM!, Fangio '54" The date anomaly being (presumably) explained by this photo from page 85 showing him alongside Eric Brandon and Alan Brown at Goodwood.  Fangio was waiting for his new BRM and John Cooper actually offered him a drive should it fail to appear. Most taken with the car, he drove it in the Chichester Cup race but it suffered a misfire. The date though was 1952 so it looks as if his memory was a couple of years out.
