  2219.     LE MANS WINNERS POSTER.   Rather on the lines of the 'Goodyear victories' posters this one, produced by the ACO, Auto Hebdo and the Ville du Mans for the 2000 race shows all 67 winners to that date - which means there's not a single Audi on it! Quarter folded from original publication (with the programme, I think) and in very good, clean condition it will frame beautifully.  17.5in x 23in. £25  
2217.     LE MANS PANORAMIC. Gavin Ireland 2012.    Veloce book telling the story of modern Le Mans through pictures (there is some text, in both English and French but the majority of the wide-format 224 pages are evocative colour photographs by a self-confessed endurance racing fan and award winning photographer.  Hardback with dustwrapper in excellent almost-new condition. 12in x 8in   pp.224   £20   
1922.    PORSCHE 911 GT1 LE MANS(1998).    Maisto Diescast model in 1/18 scale of the car driven by Alzen, Muller and Wollek in the 1998 24 Hours.  A beautiful heavy thing with opening doors, removeable engine cover, detailed interior, working steering etc. In excellent clean condition (one mirror missing). £20  
1852.    JAGUARS AT LE MANS. Superb Michael Turner artwork of the 1988 Silk Cut Jaguar XJR9s approaching the Dunlop Bridge at night. Wonderfully evocative poster in superb original condition with no pinholes creases or other damage. Quarter folded for original mailing. £35.  
1851.    ASTON MARTINS AT LE MANS. Promo photograph of the Gulf Prodrive Aston Martin team cars on the start/finish straight at Le Mans in 2009. Large format print/poster.  18in 12.5in overall (image is approx. 11 x 11.5in.) in immaculate condition. Supplied rolled in a tube. £22  

1786. BENTLEY: AGAIN 1928. "The Sixth Annual Le Mans 24 Hour Road Race Won for the third time by a Bentley Car" Achievements book published by Bentley Motors Ltd. "Presented with compliments as yet another demonstration of amazing reliability". Gold-embossed light blue card cover with original, tight cord tie. Very clean inside, apart from a water stain at the bottom of the spine which doesn't extend as far as the text or artwork on any page. Photographs, Gordon-Crosby and De Grineau drawings, articles from motoring and national newspapers etc. etc. This is a rare and lovely thing. - I've only ever seen one before! 1485.    SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIP Anthony Pritchard. 1972 1st edition. Excellent account of the years 1968-1971 by the expert author of the 'Motor Racing Year' books of the seventies. (see item 1066) This was the period which saw the rise of Porsche and John Wyer's JW Automotive team to great heights, fighting for supremacy with the 5 litre Ferraris. Extremely detailed text covers each of the four seasons race by race, with a wealth of photographs of one of the 'golden ages' of sports car racing. Hardback with dustwrapper in superb condition 6in x 9.5in pp. 240  £40  
1474.    FIFTY YEARS OF LE MANS RACING. Autocar special produced in 1973. Articles by S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis on the early days, John Wyer on changes in car design and Tony Brooks on driving the circuit, among others. Great photos throughout including a colour section and reproductions of period magazine articles. Softback in really outstanding condition. A4/ 8.5in x 11in approx. pp. 76  £28  
1168.   LE MANS / PORSCHE  1968.    A sheet of 20 stamps for the 1968 Le Mans in September 1968 with artwork of what looks like a Porsche 904. Not postage stamps, my best guess is that these are publicity stickers for altering posters, programmes etc. The race was postponed from the usual June date because of civil unrest in France.  Overall sheet size 9.5 in  x 8in. £12  



a) Nouvelle Republique Sat. 23 Jun 1962 Special race guide issue with the cars listed on the cover ready to cross out as they retire. - All the locals buy these to this day and seem to take a morbid delight in the crossing out. -they all do it!  No one has written on this one though. Quarter folded and a little fragile at the edges but complete, legible and suitable for framing? £20 SOLD

d) Nouvelle Republique Sunday 14 June 1970.  Race update (bizarre to be able to read news reports of a race while it is still going on) with the headline  "Porsche a la conquete totale du Mans". They weren't wrong; Porsche not only won the race for the first time but won ALL categories and classes!  Excellent condition. quarter folded.  £15

e) Le Maine Mon. 13 June 1977. "Fantast..Ickx!"  Colour pics on cover and pics and text inside giving full results. Complete but one inside page has a tear and a small (2x3 inch) piece missing.  £12
